Heating or conductive fabrics

Tibgrid®: flexible heating fabrics and heating textiles

Tibgrid heating fabrics integrate a heating yarn attached to a textile support which is light and open to facilitate its positioning.
  • Insulated or non-insulated heating elements (Thermotech or Spuntech) can be weaved.
  • The pitch can be adapted to your areal power heating requirements (see picture for the definition of the pitch).
  • In its standard version, the Tibgrid ISO has a width around 100mm (can be adapted to your needs). It is made either of a heating yarn weaved on the whole width or of many yarns in parallel with a sinusoidal path.
  • Its sinusoidal structure with open support make it easy to be inserted between two composite or textile layers.
  • A version of the Tibgrid fabrics also exists with a double heating yarns in order to:
    • Have a redundant heating grid, for instance for aerospace applications.
    • Have a higher a areal power without increasing the thickness.
    • Ease the connection by having the input and output of the circuit at the same place.
Tibgrid® calculator: the heating fabric Tibgrid is characterized by:
  • The heating circuit width: 5mm, 8mm, 10mm, 25mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, 120mm.
  • The pitch of the circuit (i.e. gap between each sinusoid of the heating yarn): from 4mm to 20mm.
  • The heating yarn type: non insulated "N" or insulated "I" with different conductivities.
  • The presence of selvedges (additional support fabric aside the heating circuit) to ease the fabric integration.

Heatdesign: flexible fit for purpose heating fabric for complex shapes

To get a constant areal heating or de-icing power no matter how complex the shape is, TIBTECH can design fit for purpose heating or de-icing fabrics which can easily be integrated into complex shapes made of composite or elastomer:
  • Areal power ranging from 100 to 5000 Watts/m².
  • For de-icing applications, power from 100 to 300 Watts/m² are usually enough. For heating applications, higher areal power are necessary.
  • Max dimensions of the fabric are 500mm x 700mm. Several elements can be assembled to make a larger structure.
  • To lower the overall cost, it can be interesting to associate a Tibgrid rectangular fabric with a more complex Heatdesign solution.

Tibtiss-Isowatt: large width flexible heating woven fabric with constant areal power

Heating or de-icing fabric with constant power per surface unit for rectangular shapes:
  • Woven and flexible structure which is very open to ease the flow of impregnation media (resin or thermoplastics) for composite applications.
  • Integrate parallel resistive yarns connected together by conductive selvedge to get a constant areal power no matter how long the part is.
  • Tibtiss-Isowatt can also be used on large surfaces. Its width is 200cm.

Thermotape or Conductape heating ribbons

Thermotape flexible ribbons can easily be inserted during the clothing into textile flexible structures or into rigid parts with complex shape:
  • Available in different width and powers.
  • Provide a homogeneous heating power.
  • Contrary to standard heating yarns, the power is distributed over a fabric sheet. Thickness is therefore reduced but an important heating power is still possible.
  • A version is available with an output insulated yarn to facilitate the connection.
  • Thermotape ribbons can easily be sewn or glued on various supports and are machine washable.
The ribbons Conductape are narrow non insulated ribbons with high conductivity, which can withstand important electric powers. A highly conductive 30mm wide version exists with a thickness below 1mm and max electric power up to 30 Amps.

Heatpads: heating pre-connected pads

  • Heatpads heating pads TIBTECH inside are very flexible and breathable.
  • They can be inserted into a multi-layer or composite part for many applications.
  • With the patented modular connection of TIBTECH inside we can provide you with the modular and compatible connections and also the electronic power controller.
  • Generally speaking, the electric tensions are:
    • 3,7 volts
    • 7,4 volts
    • 12,0 volts

Cocoonheat: heating fabric or tarpaulin for industrial applications

  • The de-icing or heating fit for purpose sleeves TIBTECH are very flexible and adaptable to different diameters. Depending on the applications, they can reach temperatures of 10 to 160°C.
  • For high temperature applications they are covered with a very resistant structure made of Teflon.
  • Rings make installation easier.
  • If an electric tension of 230V is applied, their temperature can then be controlled using temperature sensors and electric power controller.
