How does the Carbon and metal wires conductivity compares in relation with temperature increase ?
The evolution of electrical conductivity of metal and carbon are different with temeprature increase
☉ At the opposite of carbon yarns, metallic electro heating wires generally have a resistivity that increases with temperature, giving them a slight regulating effect at high températures.
☉ Carbon wires have their resistivity that decreases with temperature! At rather high températures, this may induce an acceleration of the damage through eventual hot spots.

As for an example , for high temperature heating applications, the slightest difference of structure or damaged heating mat or wire will concentrate the current in this small zone, that becomes more and more conductive
