Electric Trace
Dekoron Unitherm produces electrically traced tubing for both freeze protection and temperature maintenance.
ATEX/IECEx Certified Electric Trace Tubing
Heater types range from self-regulating to mineral insulated. In addition to conventional fiberglass insulation Dekoron Unitherm offers its proprietary aerogel insulation for all applications.
The use of aerogel insulation materials provide greater thermal efficiency, smaller OD’s and reduces the chance of Stress corrosion cracking.
Dekoron Unitherm has taken a step beyond typical heat traced bundle suppliers by ensuring our bundles, not just the electric heat trace cable, meet the requirements set down in the ATEX and IECEx Standards for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Our systems approach to these products covers not only the electrical components, but also the tubing, thermal insulation, outer coverings and all other critical components; checking their ability to operate safely and efficiently in the environment where they will be used.
This allows the Engineer or Installer to easily and safely select and apply an electric heat trace bundle system that meets the needs of his specific application.

FREEZE PROTECTION AND MAINTENANCE
The DEKORON®/Unitherm™ line of Self-Regulating Electric Traced Tubing is a thermally insulated fluid transport line for use in applications requiring freeze protection or condensation prevention.
The energy-efficient design provides for temperature maintenance of up to 100ºF (38ºC) at -40ºF (-40ºC) ambient. The standard product is available with 5, 10, 15 watt per foot, 120 VAC or 240 VAC self regulating heating element.
The heating element will withstand exposure to temperatures of up to 366ºF (185ºC) allowing the process tubes to be steam purged with 150 psig saturated steam. The heaters used are approved world-wide for use in hazardous or potentially explosive atmospheres.
Applications for this product include
-
Analyzer and instrument lines
-
Impulse lines
-
Freeze protect condensate return lines
Low output Constant Power Density heating elements are also available. These heaters provide longer circuit lengths and can withstand higher temperature excursions than the Self-Regulating heaters, but must be used with a temperature controller.

HIGH TEMPERATURE MI HEATER
High temperature mineral insulated bundles are designed for direct heater contact with process tubes operating between 250°F and 1,100°F continuous service. MI constructions do not require buffering of the heater but are made to specific length and can’t we trimmed in the field. In a effort to reduce cost and lead-times associated with MI DEKORON®/Unitherm™ developed a carrier tube design which allows for bulk manufacture of the bundle which is cut in the field and matched up with standardized lengths of mineral insulated heater.
Applications for this product include
-
High temperature maintenance of process lines
-
Freeze protection of analyzer and instrument lines.
